无磁钻铤是使用一种低碳高铬锰合金钢制成的，它是经过严格的化学成份配比后精炼并通过锻造而达到其机械性能，具有良好的低磁导率、高强度的机械性能、极好的晶间耐腐蚀开裂性能和优异的耐磨性。 当磁场强度为1×105/4π A/m时，无磁钻铤的相对磁导率μr≤1.010。
